Do you have a child who turns five ON or BEFORE September 1, 2017 to enroll in a Kindergarten Program? Kindergarten enrollment begins in Centralia on January 23, 2017.

We offer two programs:

  • Transitional Kindergarten- TK is the first year of a two-year kindergarten program that uses a modified kindergarten curriculum that is age and developmentally appropriate. Pursuant to law, EC 48000(c), a child is eligible for TK if a child will have his or her fifth birthday between September 2 and December 2 (inclusive).
  • Kindergarten-  Kindergarten Registration is for students born between 09/02/2011 -09/01/2012.

Every Thursday evening starting January 26 until May 18, Raymond Temple Elementary School will be providing FREE American Sign Language classes to the community. Classes will be held in the Multipurpose room at 7800 Holder St., Buena Park and will be from 5:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. There will be a Spanish interpreter provided as well. Child Care will be provided for children ages 3 and up. Please see the flyer for more information.

Starting JANUARY 23 to FEBRUARY 23, 2017, Centralia Elementary School District will be conducting annual Open Enrollment. Open Enrollment refers to the process of applying to a school “out-of-zone” (a school zoned for an address other than the physical address in which the student currently resides).

Centralia Elementary School District’s (CESD) open enrollment period is January 23-February 23, 2017. During this time, parents have the opportunity to request either an Interdistrict transfer (to or from a school outside CESD) or an Intradistrict transfer (from one school to another school within CESD).

The procedures for submitting an Interdistrict or Intradistrict transfers are as follows:

· Obtain and complete the appropriate form (Interdistrict or Intradistrict). Forms may be obtained by clicking HERE

· Deliver your completed form to the District Office at 6625 La Palma Avenue, Building A, Buena Park, during the open enrollment period. On January 23, 2017, the first day of Open Enrollment for 2017/18 school year, the hours to accept transfers will be as follows: 8:00 p.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

All transfer applications will be logged in and parents will receive a receipt upon submission of the transfer request form. Permits received by mail will be logged in as they are received. Requests will be granted by lottery with priority given to returning students, students with siblings attending the school and Intradistrict Transfers based on available space.

Parents will receive notification at the end of the current school year as to the status of their request for transfer.
